Mesa Arizona Mobile Homes

Mesa, Arizona was founded in 1878, but it took some time before the town would come to be known as Mesa, thanks to a bit of controversy over the name. Anyone looking to invest in Arizona real estate will be most interested in this city, less than twenty miles from Phoenix-a short drive to a very interesting part of Arizona.

In the beginning, the name controversy rose from good intentions as local leaders tried to make their new town unique. Officials believed that calling the town "Mesa" would lead to confusion with a town along the San Pedro River known as Mesaville. Finally, in 1889, the name Mesa City was approved, and so began a long and unique development into the modern city of Mesa, Arizona.

Much of that development still exists in Mesa. The 1913-built Lehi building is the oldest standing school building in Mesa. The Lehi is now used to house the city's Historical Museum. The Sirrine House, constructed in 1895, the Alhambra Hotel and the old Southside Hospital (which is now a government building) are all living reminders of Mesa's humble origins.

Real estate buyers should know Mesa's vital stats: at an elevation of over 1,200 feet and covering more than one hundred seventy miles, this is a city with a diverse population of more than 440,000 with much culture to match. Hispanics make up nearly twenty percent of the population, adding their rich heritage to the Mesa story. By the year 2020, the Mesa population is expected to reach 567,000!

Mesa has a thriving educational community. The public school system serves more than seventy-five thousand students from kindergarten through high school. One highlight of this community is Longfellow Elementary School, named a 2004 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School. The Blue Ribbon award is given by the U.S. Department of Education, making this an outstanding feather in Mesa's educational cap. If you're thinking of buying real estate in Mesa, you've probably already guessed by now that Arizona has a good reputation in the education department.

In the collegiate realm, Mesa offers more than 12 institutions of higher learning including University of Phoenix, DeVry Institute, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and many others.

When it comes to tourism, Mesa offers quite a lot for the visitors and residents. Mesa is located near the Tonto National Forest. Thanks to the excellent weather in this part of the country, Mesa is a natural place for outdoor adventures and exploration.

The arts are well represented in the Phoenix/Mesa metro area.
